Delivering V2G Today - The Ebbs and Flows of Energy Systems Project

With the rise of electric vehicles and shifts in policy priorities, energy and transport systems are becoming increasingly interlinked. One emerging technology that could unlock numerous opportunities for both systems, is vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology.

This refers to the ability to return electricity back from the vehicle and into the source of the electricity, via a two-direction chargepoint.

Ebbs and Flows of Energy Systems is a 3-year research and development project that explores the technical, social, interoperability and market barriers of V2G in the UK. Through the project, three key pieces of technology have been developed; the Virtual Power Plant, the V2G unit and the V2G Gateway. For more detail, view the project on Cenex's website.

As the project draws to a close, this free event will demonstrate and celebrate the project's three technologies to a wide audience of industry stakeholders, policymakers, potential users and other interested parties. This offers a great opportunity to get to know how V2G has developed and what the future could hold for it in the UK.

While more information will be given in due course, below is the agenda for the event:

10.30-11.00 Registration + Coffee

11.00-11.15 Welcome + Introduction

11.15-12.00 Presentations from Project Partners

12.00-12.30 Panel Discussion - What have we learned from the project? What does this mean for V2G in the UK?

12.30-13.30 Lunch + Networking

13.30-14.45 Interactive Sessions - What are the barriers? How do we move forward?

14.45-15.00 Closing Summary
