Opportunities for a Programme Director, Designer, Researchers on massive participatory sensing project, the GROW Observatory
MSP customer, FutureEverything, has partnered with GROW and are inviting highly motivated and capable individuals to apply for jobs on a major new project, announced this week, the GROW Observatory.
GROW (EC Horizon 2020, €5.1million) aims to empower tens of thousands of growers with knowledge on sustainable practices, to take participatory sensing to the next level, and to create valuable new data and services to adapt to extreme weather events.
To achieve this GROW will combine low cost sensing technology combined with citizens’ own devices, a simple soil test, innovative data handling and an online education platform to mobilise large numbers of citizens across Europe.
The Programme Director will lead the delivery of GROW, and needs a track record of successful management of highly complex projects in which developing external relationships and delivery of activities and outputs to a high standard is integral.
GROW is led by Drew Hemment at University of Dundee, with partners including FutureEverything, IIASA, Met Office, Thingful, Storythings, Starlab, HydroLogic, and science, technology and citizen organisations across Europe.
Drew says: “Join our incredible team and work alongside 18 world leading design, science and community organisations across Europe. For three years we have been working to make this possible. Now we are looking for motivated and committed people to join this international team and make GROW happen.”
Seven job opportunities are open across GROW and another participatory sensing project, Making Sense.
Deadline for all posts: 30 September 2016.
