Blockchain has been one of the buzzwords of the year. Despite the promises and interest however, blockchain technology faces a significant hurdle in its adoption. 39% of research participants say that blockchain is overhyped. This results in entrepreneurs and businesses facing a high barrier innovating with the technology, presenting risk on time and investment. With the amount of variables to consider, ranging from business-related to blockchain-related, and uncertainties surrounding the technology capability and its ecosystem maturity, plenty of blockchain initiatives fail to be sustainable. How do entrepreneurs, businesses, researchers, students, academics, and investors navigate through the hype and find reliable information amongst the noise?
The Blockchainers' launch event is a good place to start. Join us and hear thoughts from the President of the British Blockchain Association, and Lewis Laidin, the founder of Blockchainers. Lewis will also speak about his 12 month research paper on blockchain technology, which includes contributions from IBM, PwC, Cornell University, University of Manchester, UCL, Outlier Ventures, and a number of other business, entrepreneurs, researchers, lawyers and ambassadors.
