The original MSP location, Manchester Science Park, is situated at the heart of Corridor Manchester, the city’s innovation district. Already home to more than 120 innovative businesses, it is set to grow in popularity with the Bright Building, MSP’s first new development in 15 years.
Because of its proximity to the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), Manchester Science Park is a particularly dense cluster of knowledge-based businesses, attracted by the strong links it offers to the public, private sectors and academia and a vibrant community including on-site pub and cafe.
Manchester Science Park is also part of the Corridor Manchester Enterprise Zone, giving qualifying businesses the ability to claim up to 100% business rate relief for a maximum five years, as well as increased capital allowances.
The opening of the Bright Building has enhanced facilities for all Manchester Science Park customers as the new 'heart of the Park' for the campus. As well as office space there is a Studio gym, café by Friska, auditorium and networking space, allowing people to get together, share ideas and socialise all under one roof. It is also the test bed for pioneering the use of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and serves as the HQ for Innovate UK's Internet of Things City Demonstrator project, CityVerve, to create a smarter living and working city.
