University of Manchester Health & Life Sciences Industry Brokerage Event

At MSP we value our partnership and co-location with the University of Manchester.

On the 14th February, the Knowledge Exchange Team from UoM will be joining us at Citylabs 1.0 to let you know all about the upcoming Innovate UK Health & Life Sciences competition and associated Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) call, which can attract co-financing from Research Councils such as MRC and BBSRC.

Innovate UK’s Health & Life Sciences sector group priorities include:

  • Precision Medicine
  • Advanced Therapies
  • Preclinical Therapies
  • Improving Agriculture Productivity
  • Enhanced Food Quality
  • Biosciences

The choice of funding stream will depend on the type of innovation project and the nature of the challenges and opportunities facing the business partner.

How KTP supports businesses

KTP provides a framework to support business innovation through collaboration with a university. Businesses participating in KTP increase profits, knowledge and capability; gain competitive advantage through the launch of new products, processes and services; and become more innovative, efficient and set for growth.

The main objective is to transfer knowledge and skills in order to assist companies with their needs, leading to innovative outcomes such as new product development, service or process enhancement. Each KTP must demonstrate a high level of impact, innovation and challenge.

KTP partnerships will also be supported throughout the proposal process and the project itself by the Knowledge Exchange Team which provides guidance and administrative assistance on all aspects of the KTP pre and post award. However, submission into the sector competition must be solely managed by the business partner.
